Dropped the car off at the Subaru dealer at 7:30 and had breakfast at The Daily Bread. Then walked around town
and spent 3 hours in a bookstore followed by the library while waiting for the car to be ready. The technician
determined the problem to be a faulty vent control solenoid, but it would take a week to order the part. As this
is minor and would cause no serious problems, we continued on our way about 1pm. Did a quick drive through Black
Canyon of the Gunnison National Park (the tallest narrowest canyon in the US) followed by Great Sand Dunes National
Park. Unfortunately the sun was low in the sky by the time we reached the dunes, but they were amazing. The tallest
dune is over 700 feet tall! To reach the dunes, you must first cross a frigid ankle-high creek. Ended the day at
Lathrop State Park.
