Watched the sunrise at Dead Horse Point, beautiful red canyons below us. Drove into Moab for gas, ice, and wifi. Tried to find Hole N Rock (some 5000
sq ft house a guy carved out of solid rock), but no luck. Drove into Arches National Park and spent most of the day hiking, photographing and baking under the hot sun.
Took an adventurous dirt road out of the park and back up to I-70. As we crossed into Colorado, noticed the check engine light came on. Stopped in
Montrose, CO for gas and noticed the car was starting to stall. I guess it wouldn't be a road trip without some sort of mechanical problems. Luckily there
was a Subaru dealer in town, unluckily they were closed for the day. We decided to get a hotel in town and bring the car to the shop in the morning. After
some effort, we found a hotel with vacancies. Apparently the Colorado Wildfire Academy was having some big convention in town.
